Artist Vera Zhukova

My artwork is an artistic investigation of sensory perception. In
order to allow the paint to settle down in volume, I use a palette
knife and a dry brush when working with oil. Color turns into a
light-breathing and relieving aspect.

I gravitate toward pictures with rhythm, life, and the vitality of
growth, such as still lifes, floral motifs, and landscapes. My
floral designs are more than just flowers; they are warm,
nostalgic memories captured in vivid impasto brushstrokes.
I'm curious about how a painting inhabits a space, how it
changes a room, blends in with the home's ambiance, and
becomes its focal point. I operate at the boundary between the
living and the decorative, where the shape starts to inspire and
sound.

I can experiment with oil, producing subtle transitions and bold
accents. Sometimes I use my hands to provide more volume, and
other times I blur the paint to produce a watercolor appearance. I
use color, texture, and light to communicate ideas that are hard
to put into words. Painting turns into a space of meeting between
the observer, myself, and the quiet that gives rise to emotions.

Vera Zhukova is a Yekaterinburg-based artist. Prior to taking
private painting lessons in the workshop of artist Burlakov A. I.
(1992) and taking graphics studies with fashion designer Orlova
L. B. (1994), she was educated at the Ural Architectural Institute
(1990).
She has been a member of individual and group exhibitions in
Russia and overseas since 2021. The Picasso Gallery and
Art4you Gallery in Dubai (UAE), the Grani and Kirpichi
galleries in Yekaterinburg, and the Design Gallery in Ras al-
Khaimah (UAE) have displayed her artwork. She has taken part
in art initiatives at the Union of Artists of Russia and the
Druzhba Cultural Center.
She received a nomination as an exceptional impressionist artist
for the 2024 International Artistic Luminary Awards in Dubai,
United Arab Emirates. She actively uses impasto brushstroke
techniques in her paintings. She investigates color as a
therapeutic and affective language.

All of this is clearly manifested in my paintings.

The author's technique, the contrast of textures and accents set up bright feelings in people.
